Harris has 56 percent ownership of the new company, which was created on January 26, 2007, through the combination of the former Harris Microwave Communications Division with the former Stratex Networks, Inc.
Harris Stratex Networks offers a broad range of wireless products, solutions and services to mobile and fixed telephone service providers, private network operators, government agencies, transportation and utility companies, public safety agencies and broadcast system operators in 135 countries.
Demand for wireless transmission solutions is driven by mobile and fixed network service providers for geographic footprint expansion, increased bandwidth requirements to support new services such as 3G and WiMAX, and network hardening and interoperability requirements for public safety.
