  • Harris is recognized by three separate organizations for its commitment to education and diversity. US Black Engineer & Information Technology Magazine recently identified Harris as one of the private-sector organizations most supportive of historically black engineering schools. Selection was based on an annual survey conducted by the magazine's publisher, Career Communications Group, Inc., of the deans of engineering programs at 11 historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and the board members of the Advancing Minorities' Interest in Engineering (AMIE) corporate-academic alliance.
  • Harris receives Economic Development Commission award for "Most Manufacturing and High Tech Jobs Created."
  • The Manufacturers Association of Florida named Harris Manufacturer of the Year in the category of companies with more than 500 employees. Criteria for selection include a company's commitment to employees, customers and community; dedication to quality; growth during the past two years, and innovative systems and products.
  • Harris Corporation sponsored an academic forum to increase the number of female engineers entitled "Bridging the Engineering Gender Gap: Expanding the Future Pipeline of Women Engineers," March 2007, at Rochester Institute of Technology. The event attracted more than 100 K-12 educators committed to creating a more diverse engineering workforce.
