- GIJOBs Magazine Honors Harris as One of Their 50 Best Employers for Veterans. GIJobs made its announcement on Veteran's Day 2008 that Harris will be featured in its December issue, ranking the firm as a leader in attracting and hiring vets.
- Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology magazine, a woman-owned diversity publication reaching minority engineers and information technologists, names Harris among its "Champions of Diversity."
- Harris Corporation Named 2008 Corporate Citizenship Award Finalist by U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Harris has been recognized for its commitment to corporate responsibility by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center. Harris is a finalist for the organization's 2008 Corporate Citizenship Award in Corporate Stewardship category, which honors overall values, strategies and practices. The award recognizes positive contributions to communities, advancing important economic and social goals, and demonstrating ethical leadership and sound stewardship.
- AFCEA Honors Harris Employees for Their Service. Five Harris employees were recognized by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) for their tireless contributions to the organization. Dr. Steve Quilici, Patricia Teschke, Joe Yavorsky, Cheryl Davidson, and Ken Kyler, of the Harris Corporation, were honored at AFCEA's annual awards banquet held in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The awards recognized each individual for their dedicated service to the association, combined with a sustained level of professional excellence in the fields of communications, electronics, intelligence and information systems.
- Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County awarded Harris Corporation and its employees the President's Volunteer Service Award, a national honor that recognizes sustained commitment to volunteer service. It is the first such award presented by the organization in Brevard County. Harris was selected for its participation in building two Habitat for Humanity homes in the Booker T. Washington neighborhood in partnership with the Newell and Young families. Some 250 Harris employees volunteered more than 1,500 hours of service building the new homes.
- IABM gives Harris employee, Ciaran Doran, a check for his efforts in trying to raise money and awareness about the CHASE hospice care for children. Ciaran Doran, a senior marketing manager with Harris Corporation, is raising money for the CHASE Hospice Care for Children by cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End in England. Doran took a short break from cycling to stop by the International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers (IABM) Headquarters in Tewkesbury, England. He was presented with a check by IABM's CEO Roger Stanwell. He and the charity team had ridden just under 1000 kilometers in just three days.
- Harris receives the "Champions of Veterans Enterprise Award" in the category of Corporate Achievement from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise, which recognizes federal contractors that have awarded $1 million dollars or more to Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and exceeded the 3 percent SDVOSB subcontracting goal.
- The Black Collegian lists Harris #64 on its Top 100 Employers List, ranking in the Top 100 in the Engineering, Computer Science, IT, MBA, Finance and HR disciplines.
- Joanne Abowitt, a Harris systems engineer, receives the "Outstanding Technical Achievement Award" from the Space Coast Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers for her drive and innovation in developing advanced military satellite communications systems. Also receiving awards are software engineer Kelly Breeden, engineering director Beth Findley, and system support engineer Patty Martin (Outstanding Woman Engineer); software engineer Christine Phillips (Technical Achievement Award); and systems integration and test engineer Karen Dawson, electrical engineer Dara Rickles, and electrical design engineer Tammy Stepp (Distinguished New Woman Engineer).
- Harris Chairman, President and CEO Howard L. Lance is named a recipient of the "Ernst & Young Florida Entrepreneur of the Year" award for the Florida region, which recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. He was a recipient in the "Master" category, which recognizes entrepreneurs who are well established in their industry and careers.
- Cindy Kane, Director of Corporate Relations and Global Inclusion for Harris receives the "R. David Thomas Child Advocate of the Year" award from the Brevard County division of the Children's Home Society of Florida, presented to individuals and groups who have made an exceptional contribution toward the well-being of children, and who have been strong advocates for their rights and needs.
- Harris is named one of the most admired U.S. companies in an annual survey by Fortune magazine and ranked as the fourth most admired company in the "Network Communications" category.
- Harris recognized as one of Top 200 Intern Employers. This year, for the first time, CollegeGrad.com has compiled a listing of Top Intern Employers, and Harris has been recognized as one of the Top 200 Intern Employers in the U.S.
- Harris was named and ranked 1289 in the Forbes Global 2000.

- Feb/Mar 2008 Diversity Careers Issue – The role of Hispanic engineers in defense–focused companies and government agencies, which profiled Charles Montoya, Software Engineering Manager BCD, Colorado Springs, CO and Maria Stropky, Systems Engineering 4 GCSD, Long Beach, CA.
- Mar 2008 Harris Corporation's, Rob Hough, Vicki Busby, and Elizabeth Sieg, were presented with the prestigious ADDY® Award. The American Advertising Federation ADDY® Award is the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition.
- Apr/May 2008 Diversity Careers Issue – Women of Color in Electrical Engineering with an electrical engineering degree and we profiled Twila Chapman, Systems Engineering 3 GCSD, Melbourne, FL and Cynthia Heppard, Software Engineering Manager RFCD, Rochester, NY.
- Aug/Sept 2008 Diversity Careers Issue – Article focused on Minority males in technology jobs specifically related to defense technology. We profiles James Sharman, Software Engineering Manager RFCD, Rochester, NY and Jeffrey Nartatez, GCSD Engineering Manager Senior, Melbourne, FL.
- Oct/Nov 2008 Diversity Careers Issue – Co–op or internship program with major defense contractors and people (minorities or women) with degrees in CS, MIS, IS or other variations, and whose jobs focus on business IT. We profiled Georgia Dunlap, Software Engineer 1 BCD, Lee's Summit, MO and Hoa Tran, Co–op at 1 RFCD IS department in Rochester, NY.
