Harris announced in September that it added key products from PacStar to its solutions under the U.S. Air Force Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract. NETCENTS is a five-year, $9 billion acquisition initiative to provide the U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense, and other federal agencies with a complete range of IT, networking, telephony, security services and solutions. Harris is the only NETCENTS contract holder offering PacStar solutions. PacStar is a technology-based provider of communications solutions to the military and government. The PacStar 6000 Series solutions demonstrated in the Harris booth are the only products available using the Cisco Unified Communications platform that meet the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Digital Voice eXchange and Small End Office standards. "This is an opportunity for visitors to the Harris booth to see real-time demonstrations of the next generation of voice, data and video collaboration capabilities supporting mission-critical communications," said Ted Hengst, president of Harris IT Services. The PacStar 6000 series will serve as the core communications system for a robust, integrated solution to meet requirements as DoD agencies transition to Everything Over Internet Protocol (EoIP).
