Harris Corporation Leverages Broadcast and Media Expertise to Address Digital Out-of-Home and AV Markets at ISE 2010

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, February 2, 2010 (Integrated Systems Europe, Stand 11I40) — At ISE 2010, Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) is building on its proven broadcast and media experience to deliver more solutions that meet the unique needs of digital out-of-home (DOOH) and audio-visual (AV) industries.

Harris, an international communications and information technology company, will showcase the latest enhancements to its comprehensive digital out-of-home solution, as well as updates to its multiviewer portfolio that are ideal for command and control room applications.

"The key challenge for this growing industry in the next few years will be to ensure that new infrastructures are future-proof and built on scalable, reliable technology," said Ian Collis, director of marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa, for Harris Broadcast Communications. "Quality of service, on both the content and delivery fronts, are now paramount. Harris has a strong knowledge of the intricacies of the DOOH and AV markets. We're transferring this knowledge to solutions that simplify the management of digital signage networks and audio-visual applications."

Product demonstrations on the Harris stand will include:

DOOH - Digital Signage technology:
Comprising the Harris® InfoCaster™ digital signage system and the Punctuate™ business and advertising management application, the Harris digital out-of-home offering enables users to ingest, schedule and distribute dynamic — and targeted — content. "The proper management of complex digital signage networks is crucial to ensuring the delivery of services that match and exceed the expectations of key stakeholders — such as agencies, advertisers, content owners and network operators," said Collis. "Harris has been helping major broadcast organizations deal with similar issues for many years on the advertising management front. Our digital signage solutions apply that expertise to the unique needs of the DOOH industry."

Multiviewer technology for command and control:
The Predator II-GX™ is an award-winning, control and monitoring solution that features built-in autosensing support for multiple input standards and a modular architecture. The Predator II-GX allows for the expansion of inputs to match growing monitoring needs. It also offers optional computer graphic input cards, allowing DVI or VGA sources to be monitored alongside video for flexible control and monitoring.

"The DVI-I computer input cards in the Predator II-GX will be of special interest to the AV market, where customers wish to view video and computer sources together," said Collis. "The option to add extra cards and inputs gives customers the flexibility and capacity to easily expand their command and control room going forward."
