Managing the Data that Will Lead to a Cure for Cancer
Sound data management leads to more treatments
Cancer researchers at the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Center for Cancer Research (CCR) intramural clinical trials program produce mountains of data in their search for cures.
But finding those cures depends on how well they manage the data.
At Harris, we have been doing just that for more than 30 years.
The mission of CCR — part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) — is to drive discoveries in basic and clinical cancer research. These discoveries help the cancer research community develop novel therapeutic interventions for people battling cancer.
Harris experts deftly integrate best practices, proven operating procedures, training protocols and leading technologies into the CCR’s daily operations. Over only a few years of collaboration, favorable metrics from these drove a sevenfold increase in monitored clinical trials and a near-fivefold rise in Quality Assurance evaluations — meaning more potential cures are developed and tested.
