Hansel E. Tookes II
Hansel E. Tookes II, 70, retired from Raytheon Company, a company engaged in defense and government electronics, space and airborne systems, information technology, technical services and business and special mission aircraft, in December 2002. He joined Raytheon in September 1999 as president and chief operating officer of its Raytheon Aircraft Company subsidiary, a commercial, military and regional aircraft manufacturing company. He was appointed chief executive officer of Raytheon Aircraft Company in January 2000 and chairman in August 2000. He became president of Raytheon International in May 2001. Prior to joining Raytheon in 1999, he served United Technologies Corporation as president of its Pratt & Whitney Large Military Engines Group since 1996. He joined United Technologies Corporation in 1980 and held a variety of senior leadership positions. Mr. Tookes was a Lieutenant Commander and pilot in the U.S. Navy and later served as a commercial pilot with United Airlines.
Mr. Tookes has been a member of our board since April 2005 and is chairperson of our Governance and Corporate Responsibility Committee and a member of our Management Development and Compensation Committee.
Mr. Tookes also is a director of Corning Incorporated (since 2001), NextEra Energy, Inc. (since 2005) and Ryder System, Inc. (since 2002).
