Dana A. Mehnert
Dana A. Mehnert is chief global business development officer for Harris Corporation. In this role, he is responsible for driving topline growth, leveraging complementary channels and capturing large multi-year opportunities.
Prior to this role, Mehnert served as group president of Harris RF Communications, the leading global supplier of secure radio communications and high-grade encryption solutions for military and government organizations and a leading supplier of communications systems and equipment for public safety, utility and transportation markets.
Mehnert joined Harris in 1984 as an electrical engineer in the RF Communications rotational management training program.
He held positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing and in 1995 was promoted to vice president of International Sales. He was named vice president of Worldwide Marketing in 1996.
In 1999, he was named vice president/managing director of International Government Sales Operations for Harris Corporation’s Regional Sales organization based in Melbourne, Florida. Mehnert returned to RF as vice president of International Sales and Operations in 2002 and was named vice president of Defense Operations in 2003, vice president and general manager in 2004 and division president in 2006.
Mehnert graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1984 with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and applied physics and a bachelor of arts in political science.
He received a master’s in business administration from the University of Rochester in 1991. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s General Manager Program.
He is a member of the Air Force Association (AFA), the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the Navy League of the U.S., the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA).
