Harris Supply Chain Team

Strengthening Supply Chain Operations Through Partnership

Aug 29, 2018

Supply partners are fundamental to Harris’ success as they collectively represent over 65 percent of our costs each year. We focus on finding and cultivating the best supply partners in the world to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. This advantage enables growth and increases customer value through a highly capable and top performing supply chain and operations team.

Recently, Harris hosted more than 113 suppliers and some of our most valued customers at the inaugural Electronic Systems Supplier Conference in Palm Bay, Florida. The three-day conference, which drew a crowd of nearly 300 participants, provided attendees with invaluable information on Harris’ supply chain operations and our vision for the future.

At Harris, we want to ensure that our suppliers support our mission in deploying preventive best practice measures to achieve zero defects and to eliminate any potential disruptions. Our suppliers’ commitment to flawlessly execute on-time deliveries, support lead-time reduction, manufacturing cost reductions, and provide 100 percent quality are crucial to the execution of this mission. This conference provided the perfect venue to align and reaffirm that commitment with some of our most valued customers and trusted suppliers.

Leaders from across Harris guided panel discussions on our supply chain strategy, quality and ethics. This insight into our operations allowed customers and suppliers to gain a deeper respect for our company values and performance. The conference also provided Harris an opportunity to recognize top performing suppliers with most improved awards, exceptional quality awards and flawless execution awards.

By working with our customers and suppliers, new levels of supply chain quality and efficiency can be achieved together. As we plan to continue this supplier conference next year, we look forward to increasing Harris’ strong partnership with exceptional suppliers to deliver the very best for our customers.
