  • Focused on interoperability test sessions for mission-critical LTE products and services
  • Supports standards-based solutions

Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) was one of 19 companies worldwide to participate in the first-ever Mission Critical Push-To-Talk (MCPTT) Plugtest™ held last month in Sophia Antipolis, France. Plugtest™ enables engineers from multiple vendors to test their solutions’ interoperability and gather feedback to accelerate the standards-making process.

“Harris is part of an elite group of companies setting the pace for developing and deploying standardized LTE technologies for public safety,” said Dr. Dennis Martinez, chief technology officer, Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications. “Our team successfully ran 195 tests with 12 vendors to help validate these important standards and emerging products for interoperability. Our participation and results show, without question, Harris is invested in furthering MCPTT.”

Participants conducted more than 1,000 test sessions – based on 3GPP telecommunications standards, European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards – to ensure interoperability for LTE Mission Critical Push-To-Talk products and services.

“Harris has always been a strong supporter of standards-based solutions,” said Bill Arakelian, engineering director, Harris LTE Center of Excellence. “Events such as these enable vendors, like Harris, to validate product capabilities and interoperability against 3GPP Release 13 Mission Critical Push-To-Talk standards.”
