Harris Corporation’s (NYSE:HRS) XL-200P, an integrated LTE Land Mobile radio, is fulfilling a critical need for first responders.
“The Harris XL-200P radio gives public safety customers who need seamlessly integrated LMR-LTE communications in a single device the power of choice,” said Dr. Dennis Martinez, chief technology officer, Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications. “The XL-200P not only bridges the LMR-to-LTE transition gap by meeting first responders’ current and future communications needs, but does so while delivering the same Push-To-Talk experience on all networks.”
The XL-200P has an intuitive and customizable user interface, and is packed with features ideal for mission critical users: built-in Active Noise Cancellation, Bluetooth®, GPS and integrated Wi-Fi access points for body-worn wireless enabled devices. It also meets and exceeds the stringent MIL-SPEC standards for explosive atmospheres, fluid contamination and immersion.
The XL-200P, coupled with Harris’ VIDA® Core Network and integrated BeOn® P25 Push-To-Talk software application, provides an end-to-end solution, allowing public safety agencies and critical infrastructure industries to extend the reach of their LMR radio systems.
“The XL family of radios – which are covered by Harris’ patented technology – are part of Harris’ continuing commitment to advancing open standards for interoperability and bringing to market fully interoperable communications solutions based on open architecture,” said Nino DiCosmo, president, Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications.
