September 25, 2017

  • Includes Harris Falcon III radios with MUOS capability
  • Supports Marines’ increasing demand for more capable SATCOM communications
  • Speeds warfighter training, supporting DoD modernization efforts

The U.S. Marine Corps has selected Harris Corporation’s (NYSE:HRS) Falcon III® multiband manpack radio – equipped with the MUOS (Mobile User Objective System) beyond-line-of-sight SATCOM communications waveform – to enable warfighters to talk and share data virtually anywhere in the world.

The field-proven, MUOS-equipped AN/PRC-117G radio provides critical SATCOM communications in a software upgradeable platform. It leverages investments in already-fielded radios, and enables global coverage, enhanced mobility, and ease of deployment and use.

“The MUOS-enabled Harris radios allow the Marine Corps to develop deployment concepts and train before the MUOS system becomes operationally available,” said Brendan O'Connell, president, Tactical Communications, Harris Communication Systems. “This kind of training is crucial to the U.S. DoD’s modernization efforts because it gives warfighters a tactical advantage.”
