Carriage and Release
Airborne missions often depend on aviators’ ability to carry payloads and deliver them safely and precisely. In addition to current pyrotechnic release technology already in extensive service with the U.S. military and international allies, Harris has pioneered the development of next generation pneumatic and electronically actuated systems, which reduce weight and operate in a cleaner way, prolonging service life and reducing maintenance costs. Harris racks and launchers are present on aircraft including the F-35 Lightning II, F-22 Raptor, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, P-8A Poseidon and MQ-9 Reaper.
Harris next-generation racks support the long-endurance requirements of unmanned systems and offer multiple carriage capability compatible with legacy and emerging weapon systems – including very small class payloads. Control electronics provide aircraft with the ability to communicate directly with smart and precision-guidance payloads and create compatibility between a wide range of stores and platforms. Harris routinely collaborates with international military and research organizations to develop custom solutions to meet global partners’ platform and store specifications.
