Electronic warfare (EW) is one of the most powerful tools in the fight against improvised explosive devices (IEDs). When confronted with the new threat, Harris helped pioneer EW strategies and new technologies to defeat them, save lives and advance the mission.

Cheap to produce, easy to conceal and devastatingly effective, IEDs often unleash their destruction via radio frequency (RF) signals from a cell phone, key fob or other simple transmitting device. Harris counter-radio controlled IED (C-RCIED) technology protects ground forces in asymmetrical combat environments by continually scanning for threatening signals and denying enemy use of these portions of the RF spectrum.

Our ground EW systems are designed to defeat both current and emerging IED threats to keep personnel out of harm’s way without disrupting friendly signals and keeping lines of communication open.
