Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

Harris provides safety-critical, aviation-grade solutions that integrate small UAS in the National Airspace System (NAS). Our solutions incorporate NAS-wide air traffic surveillance data feeds from the FAA, commercially-available cooperative and non-cooperative surveillance sensors, software services for UAS operations support, display systems, and engineering services. Harris technologies enable safe and routine Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations for small UAS in a complex and crowded airspace.

Airspace Surveillance

RangeVue is the first airspace situational-awareness tool designed specifically for UAS BVLOS operations. It provides real-time and precise surveillance of the operational airspace allowing UAS pilots to complete their missions safely and efficiently, while staying clear of manned aircraft traffic.

Detect-and-Avoid

RangeVue deploys advanced algorithms to project potential collisions with manned aircraft.  It generates graduated alerts to UAS pilots and recommends a range of evasive maneuvers to ensure well clear conditions.

Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC)

Harris is an FAA-approved vendor of the LAANC service, which provides UAS with access to the controlled airspace near airports. This service automates the application and approval process for airspace authorizations by the FAA. Our registration portal is not active at this time. We currently recommend that you use another service provider.

Command-Non-Payload-Communications (CNPC)

The Harris CNPC radios and link service are the first aviation-grade communications solutions for UAS BVLOS operations.  Our radios operate in the protected aeronautical C-band spectrum and are aligned with the requirements of the RTCA SC-228 MOPS and FAA’s TSO-213.
